What Harpoon a Fish is
A shallow-to-abyss spearfishing sim from the Roblox group FirstTry, published 28 August 2026 and updated since. You are one diver on a small island with a shop, a crate bench, an index board and a dining table; everything else is water, sorted by depth.
Two numbers run every session. Weight: the game keeps telling you to get fat and sink deeper, and the DEPTH gauge runs to 1,800 m. Bag space: a counter like 1/5 that ends a dive when it fills. Between them sit harpoons, bait, crates, keys, an aquarium of evolving pets, and a steal mechanic that makes other players part of the food chain.

Before your first dive
- Finish the tutorial dive. It teaches reel timing before anything costs money.
- Claim the playtime reward and enter the live code. Both pay XP; the code pays Ruby Keys.
- Buy the Mukbang table first. Eating is how you gain the weight that unlocks deeper bands.
- Check the catch card, not the fish. Rarity and weight decide if it is worth a slot.
- A hooked fish is not a caught fish. Another diver can take it off your line.
What you start with, and what you earn
| System | How it starts | What it becomes |
|---|---|---|
| Depth | Tutorial dive | 300 m bands down to 1,800 m, gated by weight |
| Harpoons | Tutorial harpoon | Crate drops and extra equip slots, up to three active |
| Bait | Crafted at the beach bench | Recipes list the fish each bait still needs |
| Crates | Wood and Stone, opened with keys | Harpoons, resources and supplies |
| Aquarium | One pet slot | Evolved pets paying cash every second |
Straight answers
How do I dive deeper? Eat. Depth is weight-gated, so the Mukbang table beats any single harpoon.
Can someone steal my fish? Yes - harpoon a fish another diver hooked and the trophy is yours. Whoever lands it keeps it.
How do I get Ruby Keys? The live code MONSTER pays 3 and reward claims top the counters up; nothing sells them.
Is anything lost when I leave? No. Pets, cash and index persist, and the aquarium keeps growing - 20% slower than while online.

New to the game? How to play Harpoon a Fish first, then Depth layers and the 1,800 m gauge (why dives keep stopping short), then Harpooning, reeling and stealing for contested catches. The systems pages work in any order after that, and the FAQ covers the questions asked most.
